Arrows

Standard Arrows come with the following choices:- Bullet, Field or Mod Bod piles, deluxe Medieval arrows and Bolts come with Bokins or forged Bodkins. They come in various weights to match your bow and draw length. The shaft diameters for the standard arrows are 5/16 or 11/32 and 3/8 or 1/2 inch tapered for the deluxe arrow. Fletchings and nocks come in the choice of 4 & 5.5 inch shields or parabolic red, white, yellow, brown, bronze bard, black and white, black and red linen thread for the whipping.

Standard Target Arrow

These Arrows are crafted using pine shafts made by Chris Boyton.
We hand spine the shafts and weigh them to match your bow.
They have been completely hand made. You have a choice of fletching and nock color. You also have a choice of pile style and weight, and also shaft spine and diameter.

Every effort has been made to give them the highest possible degree of finish. They are not budget or economy arrows you find elsewhere. They will fly straight and group very nicely if looked after properly. your bow. They have been completely hand made. They come with 4 inch sheild fletching. You have a choice of fletching and linen thread colour that whips the fletching on. Choose pile style and weight, and also shaft spine and diameter.

Deluxe Medieval Arrow

These Arrows are crafted using torpedoed poplar shafts made by Barebow Archery. They 1/2 Inch at the head, tapering down to 3/8 inch at the horn nock. They do not need to be spined as they barely bend in the archers paradox. They will suit any bow 75Lbs upwards. They are completely hand made replica war arrows, as used in the 100 years war or on the Mary Rose Ship.

The nocks are horn reinforced and have been cut by hand as is the fletching. You have a choice of the fletching shape and color & the color of the linen thread that whips the fletching. The whipping is done with 4 turns an inch. They are fitted with forged medieval Bodkins. Every effort has been made to give them the highest possible degree of finish. They will fly straight and true and penetrate chain mail and some sheet steel metal.

With Turned Type 10 Bodkins or Bullets

Standard Medieval Crossbow Bolts Type 1

These Bolts have been designed and crafted by Barebow Archery. The Pine shafts are just under 1/2 inch in diameter, tapering down to the bodkin in the last inch. They do not need to be spined as they don't bend at all. They will suit most draw weights of crossbow, with no problems or worries of splitting.

Unusually these bolts have nocks to stop the string from miss firing over the bolt. The shafts and nocks have been carved by hand making them all the more traditional. You have a choice of the fletching color and shape, you may have shield or parabolic. They are fitted with 3/8 of an inch medieval target Bodkins. Every effort has been made to give them the highest possible degree of finish. They will fly straight and true rotating like a bullet to straighten them up quicker. Deluxe Medieval Crossbow Bolts Type 2

These Bolts have been designed and crafted by Barebow Archery. The Quality Birch Shafts are just under 1/2 inch in diameter, tapering down to the Medieval Forged War bodkin in the last inch. They do not need to be spined as they don't bend at all. They will suit most draw weights of crossbow, with no problems or worries of splitting.

Unusually these bolts have nocks to stop the string from miss firing over the bolt. The shafts and nocks have been carved by hand making them all the more traditional. The white or grey fletching on these is cut to a traditional medieval triangle. You may chose on the colour of linen whipping. They are fitted with 3/8 of an inch medieval forged Bodkins that have been pinned in place. Every effort has been made to give them the highest possible degree of finish. They will fly straight and true rotating like a bullet to straighten them up quicker. With Turned Type 10 Heads

The Steel Bullet Point

The 1/2 Inch Point above has been designed and manufactured to enable Warbow archers to shoot at local clubs, Field Shoots and Competitions. In the past, people have been told not to shoot Warbows, as Bodkins have ripped target bosses apart.

These points have been allowed!

They are only available at Barebow Archery and you will not find this size Bullet point elsewhere.

The Type 10 and Needle Bodkins have also been designed to be easy to withdraw from the target without ripping parts of the boss away with them.

Do check with your club what is accepted. We can not guarantee how each club will respond .
