These courses are run by the Owner of Barbow Archery , professional Bowyer and Fletcher ~Ben Perkins
On these courses you will be making a Laminate bow made up out of 2/3 laminations depending on draw weight.
The courses are 2 days long
During the course you will learn the basics of Bow making.
Selecting the right timber from seasoned bow staves.
Preparation of the Laminations.
Gluing of the Laminations.
Using hand tools like axes, rasps, files, scrapers.
Shaping the bow and Tillering.
Shaping horn nocks.
Making the string.
All tools and material needed for the course will be provided.
You will be using selected timbers that have been hand selected from woodlands that work in conjunction with:-
“The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora”
The course will be in numbers up to a maximum of three people held in Bens workshop. You will have a great time and
leave with a finished working bow.
Tea/coffee break and lunch included, meal and breakfast are not included.
