Ron Palmer Tribute
It is with great sadness that Ron Palmer passed away on the 6th April 2011.
Ron was an amazing man and an inspiration to all bowyers and all who have made or shot a longbow. After
many meetings with Ron and his wife Eileen, and more than a few bows from him I got to know him quite
well. Ron started making bows in 1938 and lived to do precisely that...make bows. He was a legend in the
bowyers circles and will be forever remembered.
Ron inadvertently had a large role to play in why I decided to become a Bowyer full time ....
He will be sorely missed!
